Achilleas Papatheodorou

Achilleas Papatheodorou, a dedicated Senior Clinical Embryologist and ESHRE-certified professional. In 2004, he completed his undergraduate studies in Biology at Aristotle's University of Thessaloniki, Greece, followed by the attainment of a Master of Medical Sciences (M.Med.Sc.) in Assisted Reproduction Technology from the University of Nottingham, UK, in 2005. Achilleas earned his PhD from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina in 2016, Certified as a Senior Clinical Embryologist by ESHRE in 2017, Since 2019, Achilleas has held the position of Lab Director at Embryolab Fertility Clinic in Thessaloniki, contributing to research projects and training initiatives for modern ART lab techniques. Actively engaged in professional societies, including ESHRE, ASRM, and Greek Embryologists Society - PEKE (where he currently serves as Vice-President).

Alexia Chatziparasidou, MSc, holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed her Master's degree with a focus on "Clinical Embryology and Assisted Reproduction Technology" at the School of Medicine and Health, University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.

As a Clinical Embryologist, she has been actively involved in Assisted Reproduction since 1993, both in clinical practice and as an educator. In 2004, she founded the state-of-the-art Assisted Reproduction Unit, Embryolab, and in 2013, the internationally known Embryolab Academy.

Since 2007, she has specialized in the field of Total Quality Management (TQM) and Risk Management (RM) in Assisted Reproduction Units.

In 2008, she traveled to Japan to be one of the first globally trained in Vitrification. In 2018, she became an Inspector for the ESHRE ARTCC (ESHRE).

In 2020, she earned the Risk Management Professional (PMI) certification. Alexia is a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the Scientists of Reproductive Medicine (ALPHA), and the Panhellenic Association of Clinical Embryologists (PEKE).

Her most recent project explores "The Genetic Basis of Azoospermia - the Mystery That Needs to Be Unraveled." Alexia challenges herself every day to stay in touch with the science that creates life.

Joe Conaghan

Dr Joe Conaghan has worked in human embryology for 35 years, mainly as a teacher and IVF laboratory director.

He trained in Embryology and Andrology at the Hammersmith Hospital in London and graduated with a Ph.D. in human embryology from the Royal Postgraduate Medical School at the University of London in 1994. He is a Board-Certified High-complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD) in the disciplines of Embryology and Andrology.

Dr. Conaghan has directed at numerous facilities in the US including the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) IVF Program (1995-1999) and Pacific Fertility Center in San Francisco (1999-2022) and is presently the Director of Science and Education at CCRM Fertility .

He is a faculty lecturer in reproductive technology at San Francisco State University (SFSU; 2002-present). Dr. Conaghan is a strong advocate for quality improvement and innovation in IVF and is a dedicated mentor/teacher to the next generation of embryologists and IVF laboratory directors.

Santiago Munné, Ph.D.

Ph.D. em Genética pela Universidade de Pittsburgh. Em 1993, ele desenvolveu o primeiro teste genético pré-implantacional para aneuploidia (PGT-A) (prêmios SART de 1994 e 1995) e PGT para translocações (prêmio SART de 1996), e demonstrou que o PGT-A reduz abortos espontâneos e aumenta as taxas de implantação (prêmio SART de 1998).

Santi publicou mais de 260 publicações científicas, recebeu os prêmios SART e ASRM em 1994, 1995, 1998, 2005, 2015, 2016, 2020, SRBT em 2022 e o ASRM Star Award consecutivamente de 2011 a 2022. Em 2001, fundou a Reprogenetics com Jacques Cohen e David Sable e, como CEO, a Reprogenetics se tornou o primeiro laboratório comercial de PGT dos EUA, realizando mais de 100 mil procedimentos. A Reprogenetics foi vendida em 2016 para a Cooper Companies (NYSE: COO).

Em 2011, ele foi cofundador com Alex Bisignano da Recombine, que oferecia triagem de portadores genéticos e foi comprada pela Cooper Companies em 2016. Essas empresas se tornaram a CooperGenomics e o Dr. Munné se tornou seu CSO. Em 2017, ele foi cofundador da MedAnswers com a CEO Alice Crisci, uma plataforma de telessaúde para infertilidade.

Em 2017, ele se juntou a Martin Varsavsky e Joson Horcajadas para cofundar a Overture Life, uma empresa focada na automação do laboratório de fertilização in vitro, que em 2023 publicou os primeiros bebês concebidos com ICSI automatizado. Cofundador e presidente da HoMu Health Ventures, uma incubadora para pesquisa biomédica em estágio inicial especializada em medicina reprodutiva, que investiu na SAMA, Butterfly Bio, GenEmbryomics, entre muitas outras empresas. Atua em vários Conselhos Consultivos de empresas de medicina reprodutiva. A partir de janeiro de 2024, ele é o diretor científico da Progenesis.
