Accreditation Committee
The creation of the Accreditation Committee was decided during the RED''s Board of Directors meeting, which was held in September 2004 in Ribeirão Preto/SP – Brazil.

OBJECTIVES
• To advise the Board of Directors about some technical aspects of the centres;
•  To improve the quality of the service performed by the associated institutions;
•  To increase the satisfaction of the consumer (patients);
•  To acquire the reliance of the healthy services authorities and providers;
•  To decrease the multiple gestation rate;
• To install the RED''s Accreditation as a symbol of prestige.
 
  FUNCTIONS
•  To dictate the Centre Accreditation Norms;
•  To promote formation to the accreditors;
•  To evaluate the accreditors report and perform the recommendation to the Board of Directors (B.D.);
•  To establish the re-accreditation process norms;
•  To evaluate the re-accreditation reports and perform recommendation to the B.D. ;
•  To recommend corrective actions and eventually, sanctions to those centres which deviate the established norms;
•  Others, according to the B.D. request.
 
  COMPOSITION
 
This committee is composed by: Javier Crosby (Chile),  Ricardo Azambuja (Brasil), Roberto Coco (Argentina), Antonio Gutiérrez (Mexico), Marcos Horton (Argentina), María Teresa Olivieri (Venezuela), Natalia Posada (Colombia), Juan Enrique Schwarze (Chile),  Soledad Sepúlveda (Peru).
